Different people I knew in the industry would give me some of their contacts. I was an intern, working for free, but I guess they thought I was going to demand a job. After 4 hours, I was told that I was being let go because they thought I wanted a job there. To learn from someone who had been in the business for longer than I had. I decided to take an internship to gain more knowledge. What you are talking about happened when I was 21. I didn’t intern at an agency and work my way up. Michelle Cable: Yes, a lot of people ask me if I had a mentor when I started.
